Lauren Lenz

Lauren grew up in New Hampshire and attended the University of Vermont where she earned her Bachelors Degree in Environmental Studies with a focus in Food, Land, and Community. She first recognized her love for farming and local food while volunteering on a small neighborhood-run farm. Here, she discovered that growing good food sustainably has the ability to support local communities in extraordinary ways. Since then, Lauren has spent several seasons on organic farms, as well as interning and working for the Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont, where she served as the Direct Marketing Intern and Children’s Conference Coordinator.

Lauren came to Bozeman for a short house-sitting gig in May of 2015 and fell in love with Montana. Before landing at Root Cellar Foods, Lauren has dabbled in various forms of employment, including: furniture saleswoman, professional label writer, flower farmer, maple syrup packager, farm stand vegetable stacker, champagne pourer, landscaper, child wrangler, and wood-fired pizza-maker. In her free time she enjoys hiking, rock climbing, attempting to fly-fish, baking too many cookies, and romping around the Gallatin Valley with her dog Nero.
